Cricket team management app
The cricket team management app built for club cricket
Every Thursday night, someone at your club is chasing availability: messages in WhatsApp, a spreadsheet that's out of date by the time it's filled in, and a 2nd XI captain still a player short. CricketRight takes the chasing out of it.
CricketRight is a web app for amateur cricket clubs. It handles availability, selection and team sheets across your teams, so captains and coaches pick from a confirmed list instead of spending the evening on their phone. It was built by Michael Rigby, a club cricketer from Blackburn.
Availability: a simple Yes or No
Players tell you whether they're available for each fixture, and the answer is Yes or No. There's no "maybe", because a maybe is no help to a captain picking a side.
- Availability windows open and lock on your club's timings
- Parents reply for juniors; senior players reply for themselves
- When the window locks, selection starts from a confirmed pool
Team selection across the club
Seniors use Captain's Pick: captains pick from who's confirmed, and when several senior sides play the same day, higher teams pick first and the rest wait their turn. Captains and coaches always decide what publishes.
Team sheets
Once the side is picked, publish the team sheet. Players and parents see it in CricketRight, rather than scrolling back through a group chat. Phone numbers and email addresses stay with club staff: parents and players never see each other's contact details.
Fairness First selection, for juniors
Junior cricket should be about game time, not just results. Fairness First is CricketRight's selection mode for junior teams. It recommends a fair side from availability and season playing opportunities, so coaches aren't reconstructing "who was due a game" from memory. The coach can publish it, tweak it or pick freely, and nothing goes out until the coach publishes. Senior selection stays with the captain.

How CricketRight compares
CricketRight is made only for cricket clubs, so the comparison starts with the things a cricket club needs each week. Other entries are taken from each provider's own published information as at November 2026. Where a provider doesn't say, we've put "Not stated" rather than guess.

Play-Cricket stays the ECB's system for results, scorecards and league admin, and plenty of clubs use it alongside CricketRight. If what you mainly need is a club website with membership and payments, Pitchero is built for that. If cost is the only concern, see our honest answer to is there a free cricket team management app?
FAQ
Is CricketRight free?
No. CricketRight is priced per club: £9, £19 or £29 a month depending on how many active teams you run. You can try it free for 30 days, and a card is required to start the trial.
Do you charge per player?
Never. Pricing is per club, based on the number of active teams.
Is there a "maybe" option for availability?
No, deliberately. Players answer Yes or No so captains can pick with confidence.
Can we use Fairness First for our senior XIs?
Fairness First is designed for junior teams. Senior sides use Captain's Pick, so selection stays with the captain.
Does it replace Play-Cricket?
No. Play-Cricket remains the ECB's system for results, scorecards and league administration. CricketRight focuses on the weekly availability and selection job.
Can parents and players see other people's phone numbers?
No. Contact details stay with club staff.
