Terms of Service

The terms that apply when a club or club member uses CricketRight.

Last updated 6 October 2026

By creating an account, accepting a club invitation or using CricketRight, you agree to these terms. If you act for a club, you confirm that you have authority to accept them for that club.

1. Who these terms are between

CricketRight means the operator of the software service at cricketright.com and the supplier identified in a club's trial, order or subscription record. Club means the cricket club or organisation that creates a workspace. User means any admin, coach, captain, volunteer, parent, guardian or player who accesses that workspace.

Questions about these terms may be sent through the contact form.

2. The service

CricketRight provides tools for club setup, fixtures, availability, eligibility, selection, team sheets, training, registration, role-based access and related operational communications. Features may evolve, but CricketRight will not materially reduce a paid service during its current billing period without a reasonable operational, security or legal reason.

CricketRight supports club decisions; it does not replace coaches, safeguarding leads or club policies. Playing-opportunity records and recommended teams are decision-support tools. The club remains responsible for what it publishes.

3. Accounts and authority

  • Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
  • Keep login details private and use a strong, unique password.
  • Do not share an account where separate named accounts are available.
  • Tell the club or CricketRight promptly if an account may be compromised.
  • Club admins control invitations and roles and must grant elevated access only to people who need it.

A parent or guardian should manage access and information for a child where the club's policy or the child's age makes that appropriate.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • access another club's information without authority;
  • upload unlawful, misleading, harmful or infringing material;
  • use CricketRight to harass, discriminate against or endanger another person;
  • probe, bypass or interfere with security or service availability;
  • introduce malware, scrape the service at unreasonable volume or reverse engineer protected parts of it; or
  • use the service in a way that breaches privacy, safeguarding or cricket-governance obligations.

5. Trial, pricing and payment

New clubs may receive the trial described on the Pricing page. Card details are required to start the advertised 30-day trial. Unless the Club cancels before the trial ends, the chosen plan converts to a paid subscription and renews for the same interval until cancelled.

At checkout, CricketRight shows the price, billing interval, any applicable VAT, renewal terms and how to cancel. Monthly and annual plans renew until cancelled in accordance with the checkout terms. Cancellation prevents the next renewal and does not normally create a refund for a billing period already started, except where required by law or expressly offered at checkout.

CricketRight will give reasonable notice of price changes before they take effect for an existing paid subscription. A club may cancel rather than accept a future renewal at the changed price.

6. Club data, privacy and safeguarding

The Club retains responsibility for the personal data and club content it enters. It must have a lawful basis, give appropriate privacy information, limit access, remove leavers and respond to its members' rights requests.

The Privacy Policy explains CricketRight's roles. The Data Processing Agreement forms part of these terms where CricketRight processes personal data for a Club. The Safeguarding page explains the division of responsibilities for junior cricket.

7. Ownership and licence

CricketRight and its licensors own the service, software, design, branding and documentation. While these terms apply, CricketRight grants Users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for the Club's internal cricket operations.

The Club retains its rights in information and branding it supplies. It grants CricketRight the limited permission needed to host, copy, transform and transmit that material solely to provide and secure the service.

8. Service availability and changes

CricketRight aims to provide a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, provider outages, internet failures and urgent security work may affect availability. Clubs should retain any separate records they need for safety, legal compliance or match-day continuity.

CricketRight may change the service to improve it, address security or legal requirements, or reflect provider changes. Where a change would materially disadvantage a paid Club, CricketRight will give reasonable notice where practicable.

9. Suspension and ending the service

A Club may stop using CricketRight and request account closure. A paid Club should cancel before its next renewal using the method presented with its subscription or by contacting CricketRight.

CricketRight may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect people, clubs or the service; investigate suspected misuse; comply with law; or address overdue payment. Where appropriate, CricketRight will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to remedy it.

On termination, the Club should retrieve information it needs before access ends. Deletion and return of personal data are governed by the DPA.

10. Responsibility and liability

Each party is responsible for loss it causes by breaching these terms or applicable law. CricketRight is not responsible for club selection decisions, match outcomes, safeguarding decisions, inaccurate data supplied by users, or a user's failure to read a message.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CricketRight is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity or loss caused by events outside its reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

These terms do not affect any statutory rights that a User or Club cannot lawfully waive.

11. Changes to these terms

CricketRight may update these terms. The revision date will change, and material changes will be brought to Clubs' attention through the service or by email where appropriate. Changes will not apply retrospectively. Continued use after the effective date means the revised terms apply to ongoing use.

12. General

  • Neither party may transfer its rights under these terms without the other's consent, except that CricketRight may transfer them as part of a genuine reorganisation or sale of the service, with notice.
  • If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
  • A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.
  • These terms, the DPA and any checkout/order terms form the agreement relating to the service and take priority in that order only where stated.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives an individual the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

14. Help and notices

Use Support for product help or account access. Formal notices to CricketRight may be sent through the contact form.
